  • Glendale Library 1367 Concord Street Salt Lake City, UT, 84104 United States (map)

In partnership with the Utah Historical Society, the Center for Economic Opportunity and Belonging, and Voices for Utah Children, invites you to a meaningful welcoming week event celebrating the art of storytelling and the preservation of personal histories.

When: Saturday, September 14th, 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Where: Glendale Library, 1367 Concord St, Salt Lake City, UT 84104

Join us for a day dedicated to sharing and preserving you and your families’ stories. Whether it be a story of moving to America, finding love, getting a degree, or sharing a family recipe or photograph, we want to preserve your history. Through various storytelling booths, you can:

  • Share Oral Stories: Record your personal migration or success story and let your voice be a beacon of inspiration.

  • Submit Written Stories: Contribute your written narratives, capturing the essence of your experiences and journey.

  • Scan and Share: Bring heirlooms, photos, recipes, and more that hold significance to your story. These will be scanned and archived in the Utah Historical Society’s online collection, ensuring your story lives on.

Storytelling is a powerful tool for connection and understanding. By sharing your experiences, you uplift your voice and contribute to a collective history that honors and respects diverse journeys. Every photo, item, and narrative contribute to a richer, more inclusive history that will inspire future generations.
