Reinventing Our Communities Cohort

ROC Cohort Program

Opportunity

The Utah Cohort, led by the Center, was selected by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia to participate in the 2024 Reinventing Our Communities (ROC) Cohort Program which is a 14-month training program. The ROC Cohort Program works to identify community-led solutions that address barriers to economic mobility in local economies.

Team

Led by The Center for Economic Opportunity & Belonging with The Center for Global Talent and New Americans at the Governor’s Office for Economic Opportunity, NeighborWorks Salt Lake, The Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, and University Neighborhood Partners.

Work

The ROC Cohort Program equips local leaders with the skills and knowledge to promote economic growth and build strong, inclusive regional economies. Cross-sector teams engage in a diverse range of training, coaching and advising, and peer learning. Each cohort develops its own equity plan to strengthen its local economy using community-led, data-driven strategies. The 2024 program features two tracks: inclusive rental housing and workforce development. The Salt Lake Cohort is part of the workforce development track.

Outcomes
